What is autism? Autism is much more common than we think. Almost 1 in 100 people have a problem of autism that’s why 700,000 have been affected with this disease in the UK alone. Autism is a developmental disorder that affects our way of communication with others and affects the ways we make sense about the world around us. Lots of things that people take for granted like body language and metaphors can be confusing and alienating for us. Autism is a spectrum condition so whilst we all share certain difficulties, our autism will affect it in different ways. Some are affected by it at university, in doing a job and some suffer with it for a whole life.
