Typhoid fever treatment and causes

 What is typhoid?

Typhoid is a bacterial infection that easily spreads through contaminated water and food. It causes high fever, abdominal pains headaches, and loss of appetite.

If it treated on time, most people make recovery otherwise it's life-threatening.

Causes of typhoid

Typhoid caused by the salmonella typhi bacteria, spread through food, water that are contaminated with the infected fecal matter.

People who tested positive does not to be allowed to play with other children or with older people until the medical test shows they are clear.

Treatments and vaccination

Most antibiotics are used for the treatment of typhoid, most common antibiotics are ciprofloxacin ( for non-pregnant adults) and ceftriaxone.

In severe cases,  where the bowel has become perforated surgery may be required.

Before going to the highly affected area, you should have to get vaccinated against typhoid fever.

Oral vaccination Consists of  4 tablets, one to be taken every second day, and the last tablet which is taken one week before traveling.

Causes of typhoid

Vaccination should not start if a person is already ill or if there are under 6 years of age.

Two types of vaccines available but powerful still needed. The oral vaccine is more affected but also has side effects too.

Mostly, there are two ways adapted for the treatment of typhoid.

Home treatment

Hospital treatment

Home treatment

The typhoid is diagnosed in the early stage then home treatment should adapt first because there is a lot of chances to recover by the home treatment.

Take care of the rest time, eat somethings natural foods after every hour. The shorter meals are the best rather than the big meal.

Make a good personal hygiene standard sich washing the hands with soap regularly. Warm water is used because it reduces the spreading of the infection of typhoid.

Drinking water is the most important during the treatment of typhoid. The pure water is helpful in the recovery process of typhoid. If the pure water is not available then boil the impure water.

Typhoid fever treated using antibiotics that kill those bacteria. It is to take medicine complete which is prescribed by the doctor otherwise some bacteria could remain

Most kids start feeling good within 2 to 3 days of treatment. Drink more water and fluids to prevent dehydration.

People who are dehydrated due to diarrhea might need to get intravenous fluids in a hospital or any other medical facility.

Acetaminophen helps to reduce fever and make you feel better or comfortable. Immediately call a doctor if your child has any new symptoms or your symptoms last if they go away and come back.

Kids with typhoid should stay home and avoid meeting with others until the disease has run.

This is the same for the teens who work in the food industry, who may not legally be allowed to return to work until a doctor has proven them to be free of the bacteria.
